Archdiocese of Melbourne launches Pakistan flood appeal

Caritas Australia opens Special Appeal in the Archdiocese of Melbourne

"South Asia Floods Appeal - Pakistan"

Dear Friends,

The situation in Pakistan is worsening by the day and as part of an international humanitarian response we are calling once again for your support to alleviate the suffering of over 16 million people in the country. Archbishop Hart has approved the opening of a public appeal " South Asia Floods Appeal - Pakistan" through the parishes and schools of the Archdiocese of Melbourne and we are grateful for the support given by the Catholic community of Melbourne.

I have attached copies of prayer reflections and prayers of intercession which may be of interest to you. Regular updates are available on www.caritas.org.au All materials can be downloaded directly from the Caritas Australia website. I apologize to any of you who may now have a full inbox because the power point reflections.

How can you respond?

Special Appeal envelopes are available at this office, please call Alicia on 9926 5706 and she will make sure envelopes reach you. Each box contains 500 envelopes.

All receipting will be done by Caritas Australia so please send the completed special appeals envelopes back to our office so that donors will receive their personal receipt

If you are holding a leaving collection the receipt for the donation will be forwarded directly to the parish

Donations can be made on line at www.caritas.org.au and follow the prompts,
call 1800 024 413 (toll free) or mail to Caritas Australia, GPO Box 9830, Melbourne 3001
