Associate Priests
The Society of St Columban has a long history of association with diocesan priests eager to work with us in cross-cultural mission. This experience is in continuity with our own origins in the diocesan clergy. We have found that the association has enhanced the Society and our missionary work and has created bonds with the associates which have borne fruit on their return to their home diocese. The Society in reflecting on its identity and role today is becoming increasingly aware of the call to facilitate others in cross-cultural mission and work in partnership with them.
The programme is open not only to diocesan priests but also religious priests. Priest associates participate for a determined period of time in the life and work of the Columban Society in accordance with a specific contract that is usually for three years.
