Come Follow Me - Columban Vocations

[The material on these pages is presented with a focus on vocations but also includes much general information about the Society.]

Columban Missionaries live the Gospel of Jesus by:

THE CHALLENGE:

Jesus Christ invites all Christians to incarnate His love in our world, to make it "flesh and blood" in our lives, relationships, work and play.

In the following pages you will read how Columban missionaries respond to Christ's invitation here and overseas.

Through Baptism you were committed to living a Christ-like life. Through Confirmation you personally reaffirmed that commitment. In the Eucharist you receive his Body and Blood to nourish and sustain you in your Christian living. But you may be wondering how God is calling you to live out your faith commitment.

There are many ways of fulfilling our common baptismal commissioning to mission, all of them good and needed - married, single, lay, ordained, and the many careers that provide a variety of works and services to the local, national and international community in every field of life. But among the bewildering variety of options, which is your personal vocation?

We invite you to consider how Jesus Christ is personally calling you through your gifts and talents, your deepest hopes and aspirations, what you have to offer to the church and to the world, what will give you lasting deep-down satisfaction and happiness.

Our way of life is missionary priesthood, and the particular challenge we offer is - is Christ inviting you to join us as a Columban Missionary Priest?
