The wisdom of children

St Columbans Mission Society ran a competition in the Mission Activity Pack which was sent to schools in October for Mission Month.
The students were invited to write a prayer for Missionaries or about the mission of the Church.
The entries submitted were of a high standard and it was evident that a lot of work had been done with the children.
Due to the number of entries we have awarded four prizes instead of three.
Winning entries were from St Gerard's Primary School in Carlingford NSW 2118.

First Prize
Dear Lord,
I pray for Missionarys all over the world they may succeed in their doings and that their intensions may be good.
God please may they see the face of God in all they meet and help and may they bring balance to the world

Second Prize
Dear Lord,
When you were alive, you always taught your followers how to live up to God's word.
When you died, many people still followed you.
Today, people across the world are suffering from poverty due to poor leadership.
Please help the people who have given up their lives to follow you and helping the poor and homeless people.
Please help us to stop wasting resources and to donate not needed clothes to the poor and to also donate money so that this world can live in peace and justice together as one.

Dear God,
Please help all the Missionaries to help reach out to the poor.
Help them to continue their good work reaching
out to others.
We thank Missionaries for reaching out to all the people in need. And for also using their time to explain to Catholic Schools about how hard poor peoples life can get.
Help us to reach out to the poor and help them to
live a happy life like all of us in Australia.

Dear God,
Thank you for people like Fr. Kevin Mullins and Fr. Wally Tudor who look after people in need.
Please help other people to be like them.I hope that the people that they have helped will have a more happier life.
I also hope that the Missionarys will find happiness
in helping the poor.
