Council member - Fr Peter O'Neill

Fr Peter O'Neill SSC

Fr Peter O’Neill is the Columban Leader in Australia and is also the Peace, Ecology and Justice Co-ordinator for Australia. He returned to Australia in 2017 after working in Taiwan for 26 years with the poor and abused migrant workers and trafficked peoples. He is now a member of ACRATH [Australian Catholic Religious Against Trafficking in Humans], Pax Christi and the Melbourne Laudato Si' animators group. 

Rev Dr Patrick McInerney SSC

Rev Dr Patrick McInerney SSC

After ordination in 1978 Fr Patrick was assigned to Pakistan for over twenty years. He completed Arabic and Islamic studies in Rome, Italy in the mid-80s. He returned to Australia in 2000 and was assigned to the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations (CCCMR). He is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Catholic University and a member of various interfaith organisations.

Fr Kelvin Barrett SSC

Fr Kelvin Barrett

Fr Kelvin Barrett was born in Port Lincoln, South Australia. After his ordination in 1969, he was appointed to Korea where he worked for many years. He returned to Australia in 2017 and is currently living in Perth. He is involved in the Church through Catholic Mission and the Committee for Justice, Ecology and Development.
