Christians and Muslims: Caring for our Common Home
1438 H./2017 A.D.
The Columban priests and co-workers in Australia and New Zealand extend to our Muslim sisters and brothers every blessing and good wish for the Feast of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. During this past month several of us have enjoyed the hospitality and generosity of Muslim families and organizations at iftar dinners. We are very grateful for the welcome and kindness shown to us. We would like to assure you that we have prayed for you during this time – “that by the physical discipline of fasting, the spiritual devotion of your hearts and the generosity of alms-giving, you will find grace and favour in God’s eyes.”
We are happy to share with you the Ramadan/Eid message “Christians and Muslims: Caring for our Common Home” addressed to you by His Eminence Cardinal Tauran, President of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue (PCID).
On the occasion of the feast we join his sentiments in wishing you every blessing of peace, joy and spiritual gifts now and throughout the coming year.
عيد مبارك (Eid Mubarik!) Blessings on your feast day!
كل عام وانتم بخير (Kul 'am wa antum bi-khair!) May you be well throughout the year!
