COP-21 United Nations Conference on Climate Change
Paris: 30 November - 11 December 2015

Every year, a country hosts the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change and holds its presidency to review the application of the Convention, adopt decisions detailing the rules set out, and negotiate new commitments.

Columbans continue action on Climate Change which has been part of Columban mission work for more than three decades.

In Paris, Columbans are offering encouragement to the people of diverse languages and cultures who are rising up because of their concern for Earth as our 'common home' as Pope Francis expressed it.

Help the Global Catholic Climate Movement (GCCM) reach 1 million signatures for President Hollande:

The GCCM will meet French President Francois Hollande on Thursday December 10th to deliver their petition signatures! This is HUGE. As you know, the French government is the President of the COP21 conference, so this event with President Hollande is of huge symbolic value. The GCCM have over 870,000 signatures already. Help collect 1 million signatures. You can copy and paste the petition link: bit.ly/catholicpetition in a text, email or Facebook post and share with your friends and community.

Columban mission on Climate Change post COP21

As the Columban missionaries' delegation to the Paris UN climate talks comes to an end, three questions are pertinent in this final blog:
1. Why were we here?
2. What reflections have struck us?
3. How do we continue Columban mission on Climate Change after COP21?
