New homes in Jhirruk, Pakistan

Columban Fr Robert McCulloch gives us a visual update of the new homes in Jhirruk, Pakistan, August 2015.

In 2011 land four acres of land was purchased at Jhirruk, 30kms south of Hyderabad. Sixty four permanent two-roomed houses have been built, and deeds of ownership for 16 newly constructed homes were presented to families on August 17, 2015. Seventeen families still live in grass shacks at Jhirruk waiting for a house.  Water and electricity connections are being made. Water pumps are being installed. Plans are underway for solar power.

These new homes become possible because of the support of Columban benefactors and the Society of St Vincent de Paul.  Thank you for your support.
