Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
John Din, a Columban Lay Missionary in the Philippines wrote: "I ask Columban supporters to remember and pray for all the Filipinos today as we mobilize the Filipinos for the International Day of Peace. To pray for the day when we say never again to Martial Law. To express why Philippines Dictator Marcos should not be buried in the Heroes cemetery. To affirm human rights for all to fight extra judicial killings. Current victims of extra judicial killings is nearing 3000 and the trend is growing."
