Refugee Week in Australia is an annual activity that raises awareness about the issues affecting refugees and celebrates the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society.

Refugee Week is celebrated since 1986 and coincides with World Refugee Day (20 June). In 2018, Refugee Week will be held from 17 June to 23 June.

The theme for Refugee Week 2018 is #WithRefugees.

The struggle of refugees is a scar which embodies and tells the inequality and conflicts of our modern world. The certainty of our faith must inspire us to place the dignity of the human person with all his or her needs in the first place. In that, the refugees must witness a God who walked with refugees of the Exodus in search of a land free from slavery and injustice.

Since October 2015 the Columban house in Essendon has provided accommodation for 22 asylum seekers in partnership with the Brigidine Asylum Seekers Project (BASP).
