Today (November 23, 2019), on the feast of St Columban, the Australian, New Zealand and Fijian Regions become one to form a new Columban Region of Oceania.
Since 1952 there have been two Regions in this part of the world, the Region of Fiji and the Region of Australia and New Zealand. With the smaller number of priests in all three countries we are coming together. Our purpose is to continue responding to God’s missionary call in these new times.
Columban Fr Trevor Trotter is the newly appointed Regional Director of Oceania. Columban Fr John McEvoy has been appointed the Country Leader for Fiji, Fr Tom Rouse, Country Leader for New Zealand and Fr Peter O'Neill, Country Leader for Australia.
