The President of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, Archbishop Mark Coleridge, in his message for Sea Sunday 2019, says "Most of us have seen a massive container ship or a big cruise liner. There a million seafarers on the high seas, that is why the work of the Apostleship of the Sea, as we call it, is absolutely vital in caring for seafarers who are often doing it hard, and working under enormous pressure and that's why I commend to you, whether you have a commercial sea port in your diocese or not, to support the essential mission of the Apostleship of the Sea."
