The hymn: “The heavens are telling the glory of God, And all creation is shouting for joy,” expresses Sr. Lucy Doh’s very special day when she renewed her commitment to the Columban Missionary Sisters.

The ceremony took place on October 23 celebrated by Columban Fr. Michael Howe. The backdrop of COVID-19 overshadows us but Sr Lucy’s celebration underlines the reality that each day is truly precious and “made by the Lord” and we responded gladly to the invitation to rejoice.

In moments like this we become more aware that we have been invited by Jesus to “Go, make disciples of all nations.” He promised to He would remain with us always.

Lucy first met the Columban Sisters in Korea and we are inspired and grateful for the gift of her vocation. She has journeyed with us and desires to continue serving the Lord as a Columban Missionary Sister.

At the conclusion of the Mass Sr Lucy gave us a melodious flute solo of a Korean hymn, “Only say the Word.”

This happy and historic occasion was a tribute to the Columban Sisters in Korea, past and present who have worked tirelessly and prayed fervently asking the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into to the harvest. In moments like this we become more aware that we have been invited by Jesus to “Go, make disciples of all nations.” He promised to He would remain with us always.

The evening came to a close with a very festive thanksgiving meal. Go into the whole world and proclaim the Good News.
