Plastic Free July is a global movement that invites everyone to refuse single-use plastics and be part of the solution to plastic pollution. Plastic Free July invites individuals, workplaces and organizations to take up this challenge and protect our oceans and communities.  In his weekly general address in St Peters square on August 29, 2018, Pope Francis said: ‘We cannot allow our seas and oceans to be littered by endless fields of floating plastic, we need to pray as if everything depended on God’s providence and work as if everything depended on us.’  Young people worldwide are taking up this call.

A Year 10 student at Iona Presentation College in Perth prays:  ‘Dear God, Let us pray for our earth. Currently, it is not the perfect place that you meant it to be. Give us the guidance to cultivate and nurture it, as stewards of Your creation….’
