We are delighted to share that Adi Mariana Waqa, Columban Partnership Coordinator, will attend the invitation-only global conference marking the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’ this October at Centro Mariapoli Internazionale, Castel Gandolfo, Italy.

This historic gathering will open on 1 October with a celebration of hope for our common home, led personally by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The following two days (2–3 October) will bring together global faith leaders, civil society representatives, and policymakers to reflect on the impact of Laudato Si’ and discern the most effective ways forward in caring for creation.

Mariana’s presence will ensure that the voices and experiences of Pacific nations are heard and represented on this global stage.

Programme highlights include:

  • Contributions from distinguished international speakers
  • Plenary keynotes and panel discussions on creation care
  • Interactive sessions on sustainability, pestment, just transition, and the role of faith communities
  • Opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and global media engagement

We pray for Mariana as she represents the Columbans and the Pacific at this significant global moment for the Church and creation.
