Rev Dr Patrick McInerney, Regional Director of Oceania of St Columbans Mission Society, recently had the opportunity to share his experience of fasting during Ramadan on SBS Urdu radio. Having spent over 20 years in Pakistan, he undertakes this practice to show solidarity with his Muslim friends and to deepen his understanding of shared values like empathy and sacrifice. He is also the Director of the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations in Sydney, and this gesture reinforces his commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and mutual respect between Christians and Muslims in Australia.
