On April 2, 2026, during the Christian observance of Holy Thursday, a special moment took place when a 5-year-old child chose to participate in the washing of the feet ceremony. This tradition comes from the example of Jesus Christ, who washed his disciples’ feet to teach kindness, humility and service of others.
“It was inspiring to see someone so young take part with such confidence." Although the child was very young, their actions showed that important values can be learnt and practised at any age. By taking part, the child demonstrated a willingness to help others and be part of something meaningful.
For all of us this is a great reminder that kindness is not something we have to wait to grow into. Simple actions – helping a friend, showing respect, or being thoughtful – can make a big difference in everyday life.
Events like this also show how traditions can teach lessons beyond the classroom. They help children understand values like compassion, respect and community in a real and memorable way.
In the end, the child’s participation was more than just part of a ceremony – it was an example of how even the youngest child can lead through kindness and action.
