From the Director - Easter Message 2010

I’d like to wish you, our friends and supporters a graced and satisfying Easter. I especially hope that over the next few days you have a little extra time to reflect and travel with Jesus through his passion, death and resurrection.

I hope that Good Friday convinces you of how much you are loved. Too often, we Christians look at the cross and feel guilty and we say to Jesus in our hearts, “Jesus, how could we do that to you, you who are so good?” Holy and humble as that sounds, it is the opposite of what Jesus is trying to tell us. He didn’t die to prove how good he is. He died to prove a much more difficult message for us to accept. He died to prove that we are so good, we are worth dying for. We are loveable.

I hope that on Holy Saturday, you have a good day. Holy Saturday is that strange silent, waiting day between the emotion of Good Friday and the joy of Easter. It is a time for quiet meditation, it is too often wasted.

Finally I hope that Easter is a joyful time for you. I hope that is it full of small signs of new life in your own life, small signs that will nourish and sustain you into the future.

Happy Easter and thankyou for everything you have done for us and for the people we serve.

Peace.
