Lord,
Help me to get rid of the old, those things that cling to me, that pull me away from you, those old habits of resentment, the old selfish ways, the old failings, the old faults.
Help me to begin again, with a new spirit, a new sense of purpose, a new desire to be better, to do better.
Help me to get rid of the masks, the pretence, the false me. Lord, this Lent I search for true integrity the inner truth, the inner me, the true self within.
Amen.
