Lord,
Lent can seem so formidable, so much to cope with, trying to give up something when I have so many other concerns to deal with in life, so many anxieties.
I seem so rushed these days, so busy (about what I don’t really know - it’s part of life today, all this rushing) but I do want to make this Lent special.
Lord, please help me not to give in; Help me to focus on you, and to remember that I am dust, and unto dust shall I return. And yet to know that beyond the grave, beyond the ashes that my body becomes, my true self, my real spirit will be with you in your abiding love.
Amen.
