With all our strivings, with all the energies we put into life, with all the busyness of each day we don’t seem to have time to reflect on our lives. And then one day we take a long, hard look back down the path of our life.
We see the good things, the bright things. But then we see the shadows that creep across our past, things we wish we hadn’t done, people we wish we hadn’t hurt. As we look back with our regrets we acknowledge our frailty, our failings, our mixture of light and darkness.
And we realise, Lord, how patient you are with us, how you wait for us to come to our senses how you give us this freedom because you love us and trust us, trust that we will change for the better.
Lord, I entrust my shadows to your loving care. Please give me the grace to move on to a brighter future.
