Grace of God’s Timeline
A Universe evolving over billions of years
reveals a creative out-pouring of God’s own self.
Misled to become slaves to passing whims
we can wonder at the time-lines set by God.
Rhythms of life show forth in the seasons,
circles of life are born in diversity,
the Spirit calling us to know, respect
and care for all earth’s inhabitants as kin.
In God justice and mercy meet
inviting us to see consequences in our actions
to embrace precaution in our plans
to change, bearing the cross of humility like Jesus.
The heavens tell of the glory of God
delighting astronomers in every age
inspiring us to understand life patterns
and rejoice in new stories.
Creator God, we thank you for our time in life.
