The story of Columban Fr Francis Vernon Douglas from New Zealand. One of the martyrs for the faith in modern times martyred by Japanese soldiers in July 1943 in Paete, Philippines. He died a heroic death. Like Christ, he was stripped, beaten and lashed. Accepting unjust treatment with bravery, like Christ he was 33 years old.
