Fr Patrick McInerney pays tribute to his friend, Dr Qazi Ashfaq Ahmed

In September, Columban Fr Patrick McInerney, director of the Columban Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations, was invited to present a video message in memory of Dr Qazi Ashfaq Ahmed and acknowledge his many contributions to the Muslim communities in Sydney. Dr Qazi’s family were curating a tribute video to share at the 10th anniversary celebration of their independent news platform AMUST (Australasian Muslim Times), which Dr Qazi founded. Rather than focus on Dr Qazi’s many contributions to the community, Fr Patrick instead spoke of their friendship. Here, we share Fr Patrick’s tribute to his long-time friend and interfaith collaborator, Dr Qazi Ashfaq Ahmed.
