The Columban Mission Centre in Australia congratulates Mariela, a Year 8 student at St Theresa’s College in the Philippines, for her winning entry to the 2023 Season of Creation school competition in the Lower Secondary school category reflecting on the theme, ‘Let justice and peace flow.’ In her video submission, Mariela offers a thoughtful reflection on the precious gift of life and taking responsibility for the care of God’s gifts of creation. Humanity, together with all creation, is suffering, and now is the time to act. Mariela was congratulated by Columban Fr Leo Distor and John Din, Columban Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation Coordinator in the Philippines, at an Assembly with her teachers and classroom. Congratulations Mariela!
