Thank you for the water

People in Jhirruk now have fresh water
In a recent email, Columban Fr Robert McCulloch received thanks for the water from the people at Jhirruk (35kms south of Hyderabad - Pakistan) where new houses have been built for them by the Bethlehem Shelter Society, with the assistance of Australian benefactors:

Dear Fr McCulloch,

We wish to inform you of the completion of the Water Supply Scheme at Bethlehem Shelter Society. Water has arrived and begun to flow. The people are overjoyed to get fresh water at their door steps. It is a great relief to all the people and especially the women of Jhirruk who now only have to walk 20 metres instead of 2kms to get water.

We visited Bethlehem Shelter Society on July 5, 2016 and saw the water supply reaching the people. I personally checked the water supply pressure, which is a great success. In two weeks the big water tank will be completed.

Thank you Father and also “A big thank you” to the benefactors in Australia from the people at Jhirruk. Now we need to plan for an electricity connection and supply for them.

With every good wish and kind regards,

James Francis

St Elizabeth Hospital and Executive Secretary of the Bethlehem Shelter Society
