2017 Christmas Appeal
Dear Columban Friend,
Christmas and New Year’s Blessings.
Columban Fr Vinnie Busch has worked on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines for 25 years and developed a livelihood project, Subanen Crafts, to help women of the Subanen tribe.
In May this year many Subanens fled their homes and were kidnapped during the conflict between the Maute Terror Group and the Government.
Luke’s message 4:18 to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives and set the downtrodden free sends a powerful message to all of us this Christmas.
Recently Fr Vinnie sent an update to say that the conflict was over but many families have been left grieving and traumatised.
You have inspired and sustained our missionaries for nearly 100 years by your support and generosity. For this we thank you. You have enabled Columban missionaries to be present with people in time of great needs, not only in the Philippines but in all countries where Columbans work.
We ask you to donate to the Christmas Appeal so that we can all celebrate the reality where Christ enters into the life of each one of us.
