Eric Siraj, the Administrator of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Hyderabad, Pakistan, presented a traditional Sindhi Lungi to Maha Shawky, the CEO of the Columban Mission Centre in Melbourne. He was accompanied by Columban Fr Robert McCulloch, who worked in Pakistan for 34 years and currently lives in Rome. Fr Robert is currently serving as chairman of the board of St. Elizabeth's Hospital.This gesture was a heartfelt token of appreciation for the invaluable support provided by everyone at Columban Mission Centre, which has significantly contributed to the ongoing efforts and initiatives at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
The assistance has been made possible through the generosity of Columban donors, whose contributions have played a crucial role in enhancing healthcare services in the region.

The Sindhi Lungi shawl (also known as a Thari Lungi or Sindhi Ajrak), presented during this special occasion, is a ceremonial scarf that holds cultural significance in the southern province of Sindh, Pakistan.
They became popular during the Talpur dynasty, given as gifts to honour important visitors. Its vibrant colours and patterns represent the rich heritage and traditions of the local community, making it a fitting symbol of gratitude and solidarity between the two organisations.
