Columban E-ConnectionsConnecting Peace, Ecology & Justice from the Gospel Perspective - Latest Edition
This month - January/February 2017This year will see a major change. After much discernment, the decision has been made for the Columban Mission Institute to close later in 2017.

Globally, the St Columban’s Mission Society is becoming smaller with fewer people in Australia to continue their work in the way it has been done. Although the Columban Mission Institute is closing, the Columbans in Sydney will continue their ministries in a less institutional way. The PEJ Centre will close.

During the year, the Centre for Peace, Ecology and Justice will be continuing much of our work until the CMI closes, however we will be letting some things go and handing others on:

  • PEJ will transition some aspects of our work to the Columban Centre in Melbourne.
  • PEJ resources will continue to be available on the Columban website.
  • The administration of the Faith Ecology Network (FEN) and the running of Culture of Peace (COP) formation program will be taken up by others.
  • The Enhance Catholic NSW Sustainable Schools E Newsletter will continue to be run by Sue Martin but under a different banner.
  • The Columban E-Connections newsletter will continue until Easter.
  • The final edition will go out in early April.
  • We will use the opportunity over the final three issues to include some snippets of the history of the PEJ Centre as well as usual news and actions for you to engage in.

We give thanks for the many graces that have come our way in the past and continue to do so as we begin 2017 embarking on this ongoing work of connecting peace, ecology and justice from a Gospel perspective.
