Columban E-ConnectionsConnecting Peace, Ecology & Justice from the Gospel Perspective - Latest Edition

This Month - March 2017
This is the second last edition of Columban E-Connections.

The very first Columban Connections began in 2002 when Fr Brian Gore was the Convenor of the PEJ Centre. Here are his introductory comments:

“In looking for a name for our PEJ Newsletter, the word “connections” seemed most appropriate. At the Centre we try to connect global peace, ecology and justice issues with the local Australian scene. This is our particular contribution and perspective as Columban missionaries to the local church and broader society. Urgent issues like Third World debt, unfair trade, genetic engineering, slavery, migration and asylum seekers are very much global issues. Making the connections is our task.

Working for peace, ecological integrity, and justice is not just the obligation of designated people. It is incumbent on everybody to get involved. The Columban Mission Society world-wide has made working for peace, ecology and justice a priority.”

In this edition we continue a brief history of the PEJ Centre, describing the move to formation in mission education. We are continuing to get our resources out and being used. The Grace of Earth Lenten Resource is available online. We are continuing our advocacy. You can see in News From the Centre how we are transitioning some of our work to others.

Peace and Blessings
