Dear Columban Friends,
Mission is never over
In the April edition of The Far East magazine, Columban Superior General, Fr Kevin O’Neill wrote about new Columban initiatives that will assist where the needs are great.
Fr Kevin wrote, “While continuing our presence among the poor and marginalized in all the countries where we work, in recent years Columbans have expanded their mission in China and returned to Myanmar after an absence of almost 40 years. This year a new team of Columban Priests and Columban Lay Missionaries will go on mission to work with the poor and the displaced people of Myanmar".
As we begin these new Columban initiatives it is important to mention Columban works in other countries: Prison ministry in Hong Kong, Catechetical programs in Chile, support and education for abused mothers in Peru, feeding programs in the Philippines and education and health support for the poorest in Pakistan.
