Mary MacKillop

On Sunday, October 17, 2010, Mary MacKillop became Australia’s first declared Saint when she was canonised by Pope Benedict XVI in St Peter’s Square, Rome.

The Blessed Mary MacKillop was born in Fitzroy, Melbourne, Australia, on the 15th of January 1842. She was a Josephite sister who's mission was to teach and assist the poor wherever possible and she was the founder of Penola College in Melbourne, Australia.
